Each year, Levelift Foundations, LLC tests the anchors used to secure the concert tents for the Fourth of July and Labor Day Concerts. Levelift initially installed the anchors over 20 years ago; The New Band Shell (used for the Fourth of July Concert) has Thirty-one (31) helical anchors and the Old Band Shell (used for the Labor Day Concert) has Nineteen (19) helical anchors. The testing protocol is to place a steel jig over the anchor location and secure the anchor to a hollow plunger hydraulic cylinder. A Test Load is applied concentrically to the anchor and held for 2 minutes. During the hold, the anchor is monitored with a transit to determine if any motion or “creep” is observed. If no creep is observed the anchor passes and the load is released. If the anchor fails, then corrective actions are taken and the anchor is re-tested. The results of the testing are recorded and summarized.
